Born in 1980, Alexandre Mattiussi studied at DuperrĂ© fashion design school in Paris, specializing in menswear design. Formerly working for Dior, Givenchy, Marc Jacobs, Mattiussi wanted to do a collection that he could really afford and wear. The designer launched his own brand in 2011: AMI. The brandâs name is composed of his initials and the last letter of his name, translated meaning âfriendâ. It is a proposition of real clothes for a real manâ, explains the Mattiussi. Ami is positioned at an affordable price point while offering high quality and sophisticated designs.
