The asymmetrical cuts and tiered layering of garments transforms the typical and familiar into the divergent and desirable. Kawakubo harnesses the power of deconstruction, asymmetry and a monochromatic color palette to reconceptualize traditional menswear tropes of suits and tailoring with nonconformist cuts, fabric treatments, and hybrid garments.
